CLUDs Laboratory   "Community Local Urban Development"

 

The CLUDs Laboratory's research activities are managed to deal with topics strictly related to the current demand of “sustainable urban development” in compliance with the European Cohesion Policy. By extension, the ultimate goal is to pursue the priorities coherently with the ones established for the Programming Period 2014-2020 included in the Europe 2020 Strategy.

Holding its foremost interest on urban regeneration, the CLUDs Lab scientific activities cover a wide scientific area including social sciences, economics, and environmental topics. The on-going Research Projects are based on strong international partnerships aimed to empower the internationalization process of Research activities undertaken by the CLUDs Laboratory.

 

The joint Exchange program is based on a research proposal finalized to examine how smart specialization strategies to regenerate local economic areas can be implemented, according to the new agenda of Europe 2020. This can largely be achieved by incorporating a place-based dimension. The main aim is to identify and prescribe the implementation of S3 in terms of spatial, social. [...]

 

Cluds triggered a process of integration of the European Research Funds by the Structural Funds of the European Cohesion Policy by creating the “PRInteR” project (the Project for the Strengthening of the International Network) on the themes of urban regeneration and rural development through linked activities that enrich the CLUDs project and support the network already existing.. The CLUDs project aims to strengthen the international research network in the field of urban regeneration, sustainability, public- private participation in the operations of urban transformation and revitalization of smaller towns.
